About Hunt Club Farm
Hunt Club Farm first began as a Woodhouse Plantation back in the 1760s. Two hundred years later, the property transformed into an equestrian community, then owner John D. Vogel began growing vegetables, strawberries and pumpkins on the farm.
Vogel, passionate about agriculture, introduced Children’s Garden Field Trips to educate children on plants and farm animals. Today, Hunt Club Farm is a leader in the agriculture tourism movement. The farm is a popular destination for locals and visitors looking to get in touch with Virginia’s rich agricultural history and have some fun with hands-on activities.
Hunt Club Farm Petting Farm
Hunt Club Farm’s Petting Farm is the only of its kind in Virginia Beach. Little ones and adults alike will love meeting the farm’s friendly residents, including goats, sheep chickens, turkeys, llamas, alpacas, donkeys, pigs and many more. The 28-acre farm also features an on-site aviary home to peacocks, cranes, pheasants and doves.
Children won’t want to miss a chance to take a safe pony ride. Hunt Club Farm’s most popular activity can accommodate everyone from toddlers to pre-teens.
The Petting Farm also features a playground area and picnic benches. Pack your own snacks, or buy some at the Farm Market, and enjoy a lunch on the scenic grounds.
